Currently on my roster, I have:

CMC
Mixon
J White
M Brown (LAR)
D Singletary

Gio is available on the wire, but I’d have to drop someone and I’m having a hard time justifying dropping any of my guys.. I have a few droppable WRs as well, but I just can’t seem to pull the trigger. What do y’all think?

Other WRs:

McLaurin
T Boyd
Hardman
R Anderson

All of those guys are stashed on the bench. Not sure what to do

I'd drop Anderson because I have zero faith in him and even less faith in the Jets O.

Robby Anderson will wind up having a solid year IMO

Are you looking to add Gio for insurance for Mixon ROS or do you want him for right now? Mixon doesn't sound like he's gonna be out long and your RBs are pretty solid. If your happy with your team, I would consider holding what you have.

Sort of an insurance policy.. I feel like mixon is going to be a headache all season long with his injury

Could be way wrong, but I don’t know

Gio really kept me in contention last year when mixon was down

He saved my arse too. If those are your bench receivers, I would say Hartman could probably be dropped I guess. I think your others have more long term value. I would definitely hold on to Anderson.

Who are your main receivers? If none of those 4 receivers are your starters then it’s gonna be 1 of those 4

I'm not going to lie, I don't know who either of these guys are. And I don't consider myself a fantasy expert at all, but I do pay attention.

I'd rather have the security of Gio than either of these guys.

With all due respect, if you paid attention, you’d know who those two are

I’m holding out to see if Hardman takes a portion of tyreek’s targets

At least McLaurin with all the fantasy hype he’s gotten over the past two weeks

Admittedly I was in Austin for Week 1 so I am a little behind on everything that happened Sunday.

I looked them up. Two rookie WRs that had good weeks. Meh. Happens every season - some rookie has a break out Week 1 and people lose their minds, then it doesn't pan out. The OBJs are the exception, not the rule. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but the numbers aren't in their favor.

Definitely must adds in deeper leagues, but if Gio is still available you're not in a deeper league.

What's more likely to happen? One of those WRs breaks out and becomes a must start, or Mixon (who has a history of injuries) misses some time this season?

It doesn’t have to be one or the other

Hardman didn’t have a good week at all, but he’s got a chance at being special in KC. That’s the only reason I’m holding on to him

I’m working on Mixon owners in the few leagues I don’t have him. Dude is a STUD, gio isn’t in the same hemisphere as Mixon when it comes to talent. I’ve heard and read this sentiment everywhere. “Look what gio did last year, he was great!” Gio had a good span, but he’s an average running back at best. Mixon misses 1 game tops, and comes back in to dominate that backfield.

Dropping Anderson would be bad, he stays on your roster unless he gets injured. He’s a legit deep threat talent. Believe in the talent boys, and don’t ride these week to week rollercoasters

Well no, it doesn’t. But you are asking about who to drop to get Gio. So I’m just saying if I had to choose between the two, I’d say it’s more likely Mixon misses time in which Gio would arguably be a top 20 RB during that span.

It’s just a game, play it however you want. I just tend to lean more conservative in these situations. I could very well end up wrong, but if I owned Mixon I’d feel a lot better with Gio on the bench.

When in the role of lead back last year, Gio was the 6th best back in the league. I’m not saying it’s a guarantee he does that again, but that bodes well for him.

You don’t have to be an elite or even above average player in real life to have fantasy value. A lot of it is situational. At one point last year, Jeff Wilson Jr. was a top 15 RB play in SF. And it wasn’t because he’s the 15th best RB in the NFL.
