Love “Mood Indigo” on his Duke Elegant CD. His funky version of a swinging Duke Ellington classic.
Mood Indigo
“Such a Night” always brings back memories of dancing on the pool tables late at night at F&Ms on Tchoupitoulas.

Revolution is probably mine. The horn riff is so damn sultry. Saw him perform it at BR Blues Fest a few years ago and it was incredible live.

Hard to pick just one, but Blow Wind Blow from the Gumbo album.

Classic Mac groove on “Monkey and Baboon” from the Creole Moon album.
“He was a sharp motherfricker. Ready to shave ‘em dry.”

I consider myself fortunate for getting the chance to see that set too.

One favorite is hard to pick. Lately I've been grooving his Locked Down album from 2012. It's outta sight.
My Children My Angels is a favorite off it, esp in light of his passing.
