besides the obvious, which would be prepared for heat and a lot of walking, my suggestions would be: splurge and buy the express passes. we didn't and felt like we spent more time in the lines than we were prepared for. If you don't, utilize the single rider lines, as they are considerably faster. Theres a Fat Tuesday's Daiquiri shop in City Walk that is a great place to cool off, but its a little hidden. Its near margaritaville. Several good eats in city walk. Inside the park, they say Mythos is very good, but that you will need reservations. Don't waste time waiting in line for the harry potter train that goes from park to park, unless you're just a HP fanatic and just have to. we waited in it for way too long, and realized later that we should have just walked over. don't skip either of the HP rides though, you will more than likely want to do them several times. (remember where i talked about express pass??) we did disney and U a few months back and really liked it. The rides are all really good, totally different feel than disney

If you don’t get the express pass, the easiest way to do the Harry Potter rides fast is to take the tour and sneak into line. Essentially you walk a separate queue to look at the interior of the line queue for the ride and then leave without riding the ride, but instead sneak into line at the right moment. It’s easy to get in line for the Gringotts Bank ride by jumping in line after the elevator. The Castle ride is a bit tougher and you just have to do it on the fly when you get a chance, this takes practice and knowing when to get in line. One way to do it is to get into the child wait area and then you can ride multiple times switching out.

I was against it at first but the dining plan ended up saving us a good bit of money.
If you're staying at a resort that lets you in an hour early, that is a good time to go and not wait too long for rides. Bring some baby powder. was a life saver after walking all week.

We went last year

I hope you like simulated rides with 3D projections and motion.

I’m not a big fan of those and I’m not one to get motion sickness but I was close. It seemed like half or more of the rides were those type.

There were some decent other rides though, but overall it wasn’t the thrill ride park I had assumed it to be.

LINK to tour of Amex lounge. If you are bringing kids that will get hot its a good place to cool down, get some water and a snack. You have to show an Amex card

Same here. I also got very sick on all the damn motion rides

I know two people that have been to Orlando in the past two weeks and it’s been mid/upper 90s and heat indexes were 105

For that kind of money no thank you. See you in the winter

Depending on how old your kids are there are several rides I'd recommend. Here are YouTube videos of each ride if you want to view them.

If they're elementary aged or younger they would probably like:

1. Spider-Man ride (motion simulator ride)
LINK

2. Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls (water ride)

LINK

3. Jurassic Park River Adventure ( another water ride)

LINK

4. Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges ( another water ride)

LINK

5. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem ( motion simulator ride like spider man but based on despicable me)

LINK

6. E.T. ride

LINK

If teenagers I'd recommend:

1. Revenge of the Mummy(my personal favorite ride in the park)

LINK

2. Hulk coaster LINK

2.5 Dr. Doom's Fear fall ( you go up high on a tower like thing and then plummet down.)

LINK

3. Hollywood rip ride Rock it( roller coaster where you can pick a song to listen to)

LINK

4. They might also like #'s 1-4 I recommended for the young kids

( also they would probably like Men in Black Alien Attack. You have a laser type thing and you try and shoot aliens to rack up points. LINK)

5. Jimmy Fallon ride( motion simulator ride) LINK

6. The Harry Potter rides:

1. Forbidden Journey: LINK

2. Escape from Gringotts: LINK

3. Hagrid ride: LINK

7. Fast and furious ride( it wasn't opened last time we went. It opened a few weeks after we left last year so I haven't ridden it, but the reviews I've read have said it's not that great. So up to you if y'all want to ride it or not. LINK)

8. Simpson's ride LINK

( idk if your kids like the Simpson's again depending on their age. They might like this. It's a motion simulator ride like despicable me, spider man, and jimmy Fallon.

We went on all of them and if I had to give a ranking it'd be:

1. Spider- Man
2. Jimmy Fallon ride
3. Despicable me
4. Simpson's)

9. King Kong ride LINK

( I personally wasn't a huge fan of this ride I thought it was pretty boring but I know a lot of people enjoy it.

Basically you rock back and forth a lot and you get spritzed with a little bit of water. While watching Kong rescue you)

Here's a link to universal's website so you can see descriptions of each ride and might also find some other rides they might like, along with a list of restaurants, hotels, etc. Universal

As far as eating recommendations go I'm probably not the best person to ask this to because we ate fast food or ate at the hotel restaurant.

There's a new restaurant opening sometime this summer called BigFire, it'll be replacing Emeril's. Idk if it'll be open when y'all go but here's a review of it, If it is open.

Theme Park Insider

Here's a picture of the menu:

I could probably go on with the rides but that at least gives you an idea of what there is.

As others have mentioned I'd definitely get express passes because it's usually crowded especially in the summer, and you don't want to stand in line a long time in the summer.

A few of universal's hotels already include express passes in them along with early park admission, but they're more expensive then the ones that don't.

Either way get express passes by staying at one of the hotels that include them or purchase them separately; you won't regret it.

For more info here's a website that gives you a lot of info on what to do and how to plan. They even give you a crowd calendar to see what the crowds are estimated to be when you go.

Orlando Informer

Also don't forget Volcano Bay; Universal's water park ( we didn't get to go we spent too much time at the theme parks, but I hear it's really fun.)

here's YouTube videos of the rides.

1. Kala & Tai Nui + Ko'okiri: LINK

2. Krakatau: LINK

3. Maku: LINK

4. Puihi: LINK

5. Honu: LINK

6. Ika Moana: LINK

7. OhNo: LINK

8. OhYah: LINK

9. Punga Racers: LINK

10. Taniwha Tubes: LINK

Hope y'all have a fun and safe trip!
