I do not give the 10 Commandments credit for coming up with No Murder, No Theft, No Perjury.
so if the 10 commandments came from God, they get no credit for being original? is this going somewhere?

Without God there cannot be moral absolutes. Without moral absolutes, there can not be an objective stance on morality in any form. Therefore to argue abortion from a moral perspective would be fruitless as it would just be one opinion against another, neither being better or worse than the other (moral relativism). So I’ll inject religion back into the argument and say that abortion for convenience is a violation of God’s moral law and should not be supported. Repent and trust in Christ to save you from the penalty your sins deserve and abandon the philosophies of this world that seek to put man above God.

Truth turns non religious folks off from conservatism? Conservatism starts with high moral character and steadfast integrity....these are the foundation of being a Godly person, of being a devout Christian. Sanctification is impossible without the aforementioned characteristics.

FYI, Christians/people of faith are a majority in conservatism.

You realize that if you leave the ten commandments out of it, you cannot justify a blanket ban against murder, right?

Various societies who have rejected and continue to reject the ten commandments permit murder under a variety of circumstances (Roman infanticide, murder of Jews by Nazis, honor killings in the Mohammedan world).

It ended two posts ago. You just can’t seem to grasp it and just keep asking bizarre questions.

you acknowledge they came from God but then say moses stole them from a (purportedly) earlier society. which is it? if they came from God, then they are "original." you can't have it both ways.

I'm conservative as can be but abortion is not something I rate a candidate on.

Me too. I can't believe this country is still obsessed with this topic. We have much bigger problems in this country to argue about. Let people make their own decision about this.
