So you are giving an app permission to impersonate you and make changes to your account? Would be curious about what kind of personal information this asks for. Seems like a recipe for bad things.

If a service like this is free, they're getting a lot of your info.

Same rule as always applies here, if a service is free you and your info are the product.
100% chance they are sorry they could not do anything for you as you are wise and already getting the best deal while they get what they want which is a marketable portfolio of personal information to sell.
Scammers will pay top dollar for this info as it contains actual account info, legit companies also pay well for real info as it indicates what you are willing and able to pay for.
Don't be a dumb arse, nothing is free

Reading their terms they charge you 33% of what they're able to save you. Seems like a lot.

A lot of them keep 50%. It seems like a lot, but then it's 50% of money you wouldn't have had if you didn't use them.

Not really. I call and threaten to cancel everytime my phone, cable, and internet bills are about to go up. I've had the same promo rate for 4+ years. Same with Sirius XM.
Same with insurance shopping. That isn't hard to do.
This is a service for people who aren't good at being an adult.

Probably true, but my only experience was using a company like this at a previous job over credit card transaction fees. No one in our office would have taken the time to audit our fees on that. I also used to do legal work for a company that owned the software to audit cell phone bills, and most of their customers were business as well. It's not necessary for personal use if you take the time to do it, but it can be useful for businesses
