hell.. even the Panthers held out or limited their best players in that game.
No matter who replaces Drew, that guy has shoes to fill that probably can't be.
Drew Brees is a Hall of Fame QB and that is saying something considering the Saints history. What he's done and is still doing is remarkable.
As far as Teddy goes.. you can't judge him in limited appearances for the Saints.

The Panthers’ QB was way more productive than Teddy in that game.
The game didn’t mean anything to the Saints, but it meant a lot to Teddy, and he played poorly.
His performance in that game is similar to what you’ll get out of him in the future.

This is a “what have you done for me lately” league, and Teddy has not shown anything for a few years now.
I am not getting my hopes up. For now I’m just hoping that he will help us to not suck too badly while we are finding the true heir to Drew Brees.

The line against panthers was horrific. He had almost no protection.

Kid is a really good QB that has had a string of bad luck healthwise in his career coming from Minnesota. He was turning into a franchise, All pro type of QB in Minny before the career threatening knee injuries, and had everyone in Minnesota excited and talking about super bowl. The criticism of him is retarded and completely dumb because if he can regain that ability that he once possessed the Saints get a steal.
This kid was phenomenal throwing the ball with pinpoint accuracy and deft touch before the injuries, has a much stronger arm than Brees, but has that same kind of accurate ability when passing the ball. He just needs to find what works for him within the Saints offense because it's hard to duplicate what Brees has done in his time within the Saints' offense. He doesn't need to be another Drew Brees, but just needs to go back to being and playing like Teddy Bridgewater who was successful in Minny pre injury. Just do what made him really good in Minny, and do that within the confines of the Saints offense.

Ran into a former Saint who is still working with the Saints daily at a wedding. He says Teddy is 100% our guy. The Panthers game was a throw by the organization. We gave him like 4 shitty plays to run all game. Why would we want to raise his contract value, knowing that he was about to be a FA?

Which is exactly why we gave him shitty plays in that Panthers game. Why would we want to showcase someone that was about to be a FA when we already know he's our guy? Much better to throw a meaningless game then have to shell out millions more to retain him.
