Will LSU look at transfer QB Matthew Baldwin? OSU chose Baldwin over Emory Jones

From Lettermen Row - This new site is staffed by about 50% former Buckeye players. Very good inside connections:

Ohio State could have kept aggressively chasing Emory Jones on the recruiting trail during that cycle, but eventually that boiled down to a decision between him and Baldwin. The Buckeyes made their choice with a guy they reasonably expected would stick around long enough for them to develop and groom into an elite starter.

Baldwin has 3 years of eligibility left. Will likely have to sit out one year.

Can't have too many QBs IMO. And I'd hate to see him go to Texas or Florida (two possible landing spots).

But, probably Texas. He's from Austin, and he knows Herman's (Urban Meyer's) offense.

You can when they are bad, no thanks on Baldwin.

You can have too many. Especially when you’ve got 3 lines up to come in the next 2 years. Joe was the perfect transfer for us. 2 years of eligibility at a time when we had no one. While Brennan had 4 years left on campus.

Taking another transfer while having 4 recruits on campus would cause mass exodus and potentially hurt recruiting the position.

“Look, Look, I’m not Tiger Ree, I’m a real Ohio State fan”

At least switch up the format.

Baldwin is a very good QB. It is a long shot for him to land in BR. But you never know.

Parents are LSU grads and want him at LSU. Not as far fetched as people think.

Why would you want to take another qb? You got burrow Brennan and Parrish this year. Then you got Brennan Parrish and 2 other really good recruits for at least the next 2 years. Why waste a spot?

Except you can, and everyone transfers out.

I thought bringing in Joe last year was a great idea, because we definitely needed a starting QB, things did not look good coming out of spring.

On the other hand, this time around, Brennan truly looks like the future. We have a 4-star QB coming in, we already 2 4-star QBs committed for 2020. I'm not so sure you mess up what potentially could be a good thing going there to take Baldwin. If we could get Baldwin with minimal fall out, I'd do it. IF we have multiple QBs wanting out if he comes in, especially if 1 is Brennan, I wouldnt do it.

I don't know, but Brennan should be starting this year.

So this is your attempt to pretend like you’re actually an Ohio State fan?

Weak shite Ree.

Well he is pale, tall, and long hair from looking like Burrow. Plus he appears to levitate in that picture. I say take him

I agree. While the competition is awesome, it seems more QB's transfer these days than stick around. I'm thinking maybe coaches are re-evaluating recruiting strategies for the position to some extent. For every person who tranfers out, you've invested a lot of time and money.
