i will give you this Cad, I had a buncha powershell commands saved into notepad I have had sitting on my desktop for 2 weeks and went ahead and saved them. thanks.

Pen and paper autosaves automatically. And paper won't go to sleep and can be scanned, copied, folded into a paper airplane or crumpled up and used as a spit ball to thwack a co worker in the ear.

It is true that there were many better choices for you to have made. However, no preloaded Windows app should come without autosave these days as often as Windows likes to reboot itself. You should have known better but it's also a flaw in Windows worthy of bitching about.

I feel your pain, I found Win 10 overly tedious. I got online, and after a couple of hrs searching, I found a NOS HP with Win 7 Pro. Problems solved.

Why the hell should notepad have autosave? The whole point is that it's a stripped down extremely simple text editor. There's appropriate software to do that. Use that instead.

Uh.. notepad++ takes 2 additional keystrokes to open over notepad after you press Ctrl+R. This is where you fricked up. Hell, it autocompletes notepad++ for me since I use it all the time
