You read all 4 books in less than a month? Where do y'all find the time to read?

It took me 6 months to read the first book. In my defense, I started it, got about 1/3 of the way through, and then about 3 months went by where life was so hectic I wasn't doing any reading. So I started it over from the beginning.

I started Fall of Hyperion about 2 weeks ago and I've been trying to find more time to read. I just finished chapter 33 (that was a pretty huge chapter) during my lunch break and holy crap! The first book was phenomenal. Second book is different but equally great. I'm trying to push through so I can hopefully read the other 2 by the end of the year.

Loving this series so far and wish I would've read it before I had kids.

It’s a long story but work has been very slow.

The first book is insane. It’s worth reading all 4 books. He ties up the ending nicely, but the whole thing is insane. As another poster put it: WTF did I just read? (In a good way )

Book 1 is fantastic. Book 2 was decent. Book 3 was decent. Book 4 was a let down.

Worth reading though, especially book 1. I generally like dan simmons books.

I got the first book for Christmas. I finished the Poet's story last night. I'm really enjoying it so far.

I just finished this and started on book 2 yesterday.

Priest's story was easily my favorite, although I laughed my arse off at the poet's limited vocabulary. Goddamn poopoo!

My wife asked for a Kindle Paperwhite for her birthday. After hearing me talk about this series enough, she wants to read it.

So I just finished book one today. Committing to 3 more books seems like a lot given I like to mix up genres and authors.

Is it worth it to finish the whole series or just let this book be the end? I did like the book quite a bit.

Has anyone read the book Song of Kali by Simmons? It won some awards and I was curious about any reviews from here.

Not sure why you wouldn't want to finish a series that you liked the first book quite a bit?

At any rate you'd definitely want to read the second one, as that series is basically two sets of two books storywise. I personally think both sets of two books are very good myself.

Read all 4 books. You won’t regret it.

Well, sometimes authors end up writing subsequent books due to the success of the original and then the story suffers. Sometimes publishers push them to continue a story forcing the creative process.

I don't read a ton of books so I like to be selective. I'm not the type of person to read more than 5-7 books a year. For instance, I read Dune and liked it but never felt the need to continue that series. I may reconsider it, but I don't like having to trudge through books. I heard the second Dune book is not as good as 1 or 3, so I felt no real need to proceed.
