Not sure if this is the board but didn’t want to go to the OT.

Long story short, I had an Air Force bud and his wife have to leave this morning after driving in 10 hours last night to hang out for the weekend bc he got a call that his dad has colon cancer. It’s spread to his liver and is having surgery tonight.

Just want to somewhat prepare myself and didn’t get a lot of clear answers on a google search.

TIA

Sorry. If any cancer has spread, it’s certainly not good, but that doesn’t mean it’s untreatable. I can’t recommend MD Anderson enough. They are working miracles every day.

Colon cancer can usually be handled with that part of the colon being removed. The liver is always the next stop for cancer in the thorax. That can be treated through traditional cancer treatments.

Pray that it didn’t go beyond the liver.

He should survive this if he has decent doctors and the will I fight. It wonky be easy, but my buddy’s mom kicked it without too much trouble. (Relatively)

JK. Very sorry about your friend's pop. One good thing about the liver is it actually regenerates and does so quickly. It they need to take a piece of his liver it will grow back. As for his colon... Probably syonara.
