Georgia James opens tonight. Gotta say I was pretty ambivalent about another steak house opening in this city, but the menu looks pretty good.
I like UB Preserve much more than Underbelly, I think Shepherd is really cranking out some great food, will definitely be checking Georgia James out soon.

Looks about 90% identical to the One Fifth Steakhouse menu (not a positive or negative comment). That country ham, if the same, is fantastic.

I never cared much for Underbelly but I do believe it launched Shepherd's ambassadorship of the Houston food scene as Caswell and Randy Rucker stepped aside. He did an excellent job at Catalan but needed to rule his own roost. The baller boards from One Fifth Steak were definitely worth saving with a full-on steakhouse. I look forward to tasting the french onion soup he's been raving about.
