I'll take anything over 10 minutes by Tool, Pink Floyd, Rush, King Crimson, and early Yes.

Dream Theater - Octavarium 24 minutes long. Really any prog rock/metal group will have lots of songs over 10 minutes long.

Maybe so, but there are also plenty that will say that treads like this are the bane of the Music Board.

By the way, out of that list, I have all of these songs on albums or CD except for #1, 31 & 45. If I had all my albums & cd's in a relational database I could do my own search and come up with a more extensive list. As mentioned Yes isn't listed, Gentle Giant probably has several and there are many other progressing rock bands that regularly surpass the 10 minute mark. Also missing is Whipping Post - Allman Brothers.

26. I’d Do Anything For Love (album version – longest song to ever top the charts), Meat Loaf, 11:58

November Rain is actually the longest song to chart the top 10, the version of this that charted was like 5 minutes.

It pisses me off how close this song is to 10 minutes but I’m posting anyways....

Konstantine - Something Corporate

9:36 in length.

One of my all-time favorites

I'm not the biggest Andrew McMahon fan, but that is an impressive song for someone to compose at 18 years old.

I really like long songs, which is probably one of the reasons I liked jambands and jazz so much back in the day and enjoy metal so much these days. I especially like songs that contain movements and themes. Kind of like classical music. Finally, I like songs that may create a problem/tension where things might get uncomfortable or unhinged slightly but then get resolved.

Anyway, Sufjan Stevens Impossible Soul contains all those elements and is quite a journey. I could come up with a gigantic list of metal, jazz, and jamband songs, but that's not really a challenge. I'll try to occasionally post nontraditional long songs, including some ambient and electronic. First up, though:

Impossible Soul
