Not looking to spend 800 dollars on clubs. Was wondering what’s the best valued club set for beginners?

Golf* gold club is helpful too

If you are looking to buy a prepackaged "set" of clubs that comes with a bag and all the accessories I would stick with a name brand like Callaway or Cobra.
As a beginner, I don't think you will notice much difference in these sets. If you decide to stick with golf you will probably be wanting to upgrade within a couple of years.

If you want to build a decent set, I would look for a 4-5 year old used set of irons, driver, sand wedge, putter, and bag.
You can probably get something decent in the $500-$600 range.
You can add extra wedges, a hybrid, and a fairway wood later if you want to piece it together.

I’d let 2 (looks like a young, hot, Vicki Valencourt) choke down on my shaft and try to get it up and down.

Thibby and Bandit can have 1 and 3.

Check eBay for a set that s a few years older and used. You can score great deals that way.

Here is what I would do:

Let Edwin Watts or somewhere "fit" you. They are not the best, but they will give you a ball park idea of what you need. Post you specs here and let us find you what you want. Bandit is a freaking savant about finding clubs on eBay.

I got a Walter Hagen beginner set from Dicks like 9 years ago, they worked just fine. I actually still use the putter and 3 wood with my new AP1s. Time to upgrade those. Haha

Get a set of game improvement irons that are a few years old. Look on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.

If you are a true beginner, your swing won't be consistent enough to justify a fitting. Unless you are super tall/short, you can probably get a stock set.

The 2-3 year old irons will be better than the cheap beginner set from academy at half the price.
