Cheap 3 wood(Cobra) alert

Academy has the Cobra F6 3 woods on closeout for $50. No idea if any good, but these have the adjustable hosel. I'd have bought one if I didn't own an Exotics.

Cobra fairway woods are supposed to be great, and underrated, clubs.
The F6 line was good as was the F7. Think Rick Shiels still plays his F7 fairway wood and he can pretty much game any wood he wants.

Alexandria. The price changes when you scan it because they are on clearance.

I've found a lot of things at Academy that were a good bit cheaper than the listed price. Everything I'm ever interested in I take to the scanners on the wall to see if it's on sale. They don't do a great job advertising clearance items, but it's pretty sweet when you find something that's drastically marked off.

It looks as if academy on Seigen is getting rid of most of their golf clubs. The golf section is not exclusively golf anymore and the amount and quality of the clubs left are not good. A lot of knock off/Wilson/Dunlop crap with a few Cobra mixed in. That said, they have a large number of putters (some nice Odyssey) and a handful of Cleveland wedges. Gonna go by there today and see what I can get cheap before it’s all gone.

I noticed this as well. An indication of where the golf industry is headed IMO with the way stuff has gotten so over priced.

Golf was never a large part of Academy’s sales, especially clubs. They’ve been offloading equipment and shrinking the golf section for a while now.
Went to my local one yesterday, snagged some driver head covers for free. So just FYI if anyone has a Nike Vapor, Cobra F6/F7, or cheaper Callaway driver and missing a head cover, go grab one for free

Pretty sure they are done with clubs. Will be balls, accessories and clothes only.

The golf club manufacturers stopped over-releasing product and are down to 1 major release per year, and aren’t making the mid-price point stuff anymore, so there aren’t a lot of options for Academy to sell. If you want a $250 driver your options are limited and probably going to have to buy used. There still seems to be a lot of cheap box sets out there so your choices are either low or high it seems.
