Has anyone played the Ocean Course at Kiawah and of you have, is it worth the ~$400?

It is a beautiful course

I loved it

However, I did not have to pay the greens fee as I got on with a pro that practices out there

But worth it is subjective. For me, it wouldnt be worth it. But if you have alot of disposable income, or golf is really your #1 hobby, I can see it being worth it

It’s gorgeous. But someone else paid for my fee. I didn’t even know it was world renowned until after my triple digit round lol.

it's a great course ... if you want to play top courses, that's as good as it gets for public access ... "worth" is up to you ...

Co-workwr had it on his bucket list and played it last year. Came away feelng a little let down. Not that it wasnt magnificent but 400 bucks for us mortal almost needs to include a blowie from a supermodel to be “worth it”. Depends on how much disposable income you have is my answer.

It’s a course that you need to play with your buddies and a good caddie makes it more enjoyable.

Few holes on the front are meh. But the back 9 is a beast.

Whenever I find myself debating this is I take a few things into account. When will I be back in that area? When will I have 5+ hours to myself to actually do this if back in the area? You’ll make $400 again.

I played Pinehurst #2 and the green fee was ~$350. Was it worth that? I am not sure as $350 for any round of golf is quite steep. However, I enjoyed myself and I was even by myself. I rarely go to North Carolina much less Pinehurst. I already had a rental car, etc. so it all just made sense and in the totality of things it was worth it.

I say do it - you won’t regret it.

In the grand scheme of things, what’s $400 in the long run? The lifetime of memories you will get from playing a round there are completely worth a very small investment. If $400 is going to hurt you financially then maybe golf isn’t a hobby your should be playing. Secondly, you could also save the money over several months so it’s not a big hit to your bank account.

Have fun!
