Its already been somewhat mentioned, but Ponce City Market and the Belt Line. If its not too hot or you are getting an early start. Rent bikes at Piedmont park, ride around the park, then the belt line over to PCM and get some good food

College football HOF is great for boys, lots of interactive games targeted to kids. CFHOF, World of Coke and Aquarium are all wrapped around Centennial park. Splash pad there for kids in the summer. CNN is across the street as well

Stone mountain for the hike to the top if you are up for it, otherwise maybe just a laser show

I would find away to ride the MARTA train around town somehow. Kids love it

High Museum can be cool for some kids

there is a lego land at phipps, maybe the wife could shop while you do that

The big ferris wheel is cool for out of towners, also on centennial park

There is a railroad museum in Johns creek somewhere, if he is into those

A lot of other stuff to do but outside of town, guessing yall want to stay in the city. Botanical gardens and childrens museum would probably be a bore for a 7 yo boy

I am checking out Fernbank online right now...it sounds cool...ovbiously its designed to be more educational than Stone Mountain, which is a good thing. I am not sure we are going to be able to squeeze in a trip to both places so I now have to decide which one to pick...

Fernbank would be the better option between those two.

I haven't been there in years but they have the dinosaurs, the giant imax screen, the science center, a lot of really unique/interactive exhibits.

I am thinking we will go to a Braves game Friday night after driving in that afternoon, and hit up the aquarium on Saturday, which leaves Sunday open to do something else, I am leaning towards Stone Mountain. We will probably be able to squeeze something else in on Saturday with the aquarium but just hanging out a hotel pool will be nice as well.

Definitely want to hit up Fox Brothers based on all of the high marks you guys have given it. Probably Varsity before the Braves game.

I love the Varsity, but don't go to the Varsity before a Braves game. Get to the Battery as early as possible and eat outside the stadium. The food options are insane (Antico Pizza, as mentioned in this thread as being the best in Atlanta, has a location at the Battery).

Don't go to Stone Mountain.

Do go to Fox Brothers.

Don't go to Coke.

I don’t get the “don’t go to Stone Mountain” stuff.
I’ve spent hundreds of hours there hiking, biking, kids things etc.

Fernbank is not all that great for me. Then again I don’t like being inside if I don’t have to be.

This. If you're Intown nearby, sure. If not, I would skip it. The Battery is much better before a Braves game. You'll pay more for the Terrapin Taproom/Fox Bros and the Antico there but, if you arrive early, you'll save yourself a headache. There's a ton to do in Suntrust Park for a child his age as well.

Ok. I guess by outdoors I mean hiking, climbing, biking, picnicking, paddle boating/canoeing and for kids climbing ropes etc.

Just my preference.
