plain old dish soap and water in a sprayer, they dont like the soap film and leave. have to respray about once a week or after every rain. keeps most all bugs off mine, without it they were being eaten alive.

im told adding hot sauce helps with the bugs the soap doesnt deter but i never needed anything beyond soap so far

buy the cheap stuff in the big economy bottle and mix it so the water feels slimy. i usually put about an ounce of liquid soap per gallon in a 2 gallon pump sprayer

should be, but thats a lot of damn squirting, if you are like me your fingers will be cramping up before long

go buy a cheap $10 pump sprayer for it, it makes life a whole lot easier
