This is where I would try to spend the money in free agency. I would resign Okafor and go after Poe of the falcons and Logan of the chiefs.

Then for the draft I would target lb, te, and wr.

What do yall think should be targeted?

I think everyone wants Ok back if he's healthy and that would be a good start. We seem to have good depth at DT right now so we are not hurting to much.
As far as a pass rushing pressure the QB D lineman they just cost to much in FA. We tried to go cheap on Fairly and Ok and injuries bit us. That doesn't mean you can't try again but the best way to go money wise is to hit on a rusher in the draft at DE,DT or OLB.

All of this is exactly what I was gonna say.

Resign Okafor, BPA in draft. Poe isn’t any better than the DTs we currently have. No sense in breaking the bank on a pass rushing DE. We can have Okafor, already got CJ, and Hendrickson will be going into his 2nd year. Kikaha is ok as a backup pass rush guy who will be 2 years removed from his ACL injury (usually takes that long to get back to normal). I’m sure there is a decent chance of BPA being a DE also in this draft.

I don't see him being on the roster this season. He hardly played last year and he was on the block towards the trade deadline.

Would love to get Star but don't see that happening.

He's too young to resign. As a matter of fact, we need him to re-sign.

I think you just re-sign Okafor and try to develop the guys we already have. We finished tied for 7th in sacks last year despite the injuries, so its not necessarily a pressing need.

Continue to develop Hendrickson and Muhammad and draft an edge if he's BPA. Also hope Rankins and Onyemata take that next step.

The guy I love this year at DT is Nathan Shepherd, and he would continue our trend of drafting Canadian defensive lineman. We get our Tyeler Davison replacement a year early.

Sure it is. Always room to improve the DL. We are extremely thin. If Cam Jordan goes down for an extended period of time then who is putting pressure on the QB from the outside?

The thing that might save him is that he can be an emergency backup LB if needed. If we re-sign Okafor & draft a DE...he's going to have a hard time making the team. Cutting him saves 1.153 mil & only has a dead money hit of 522 k.

Same could be said of any position on the roster. Obviously its a need, but my point is its not the end of the world if we come out of FA and the draft with what we have on the roster including Okafor with maybe another cheap vet and another developmental player.

If you can get William Hayes or Vinny Curry for cheap, or if Harold Landry falls to you, you make that move. If not then you dont have to reach or overpay like you would if we had nothing there. Thats what I meant by pressing need.

Came here to say William Hayes. Can get him on a short deal and wouldn't have to reach at 27 for someone who can get after the qb.

Some people will laugh at this comment, but I think it's 100% true.

I'd be surprised if we didn't re-sign Davison in 2019. Rotational run stopping DT's usually aren't that expensive.
