The home gym I get to workout at doesn’t have any barbells, it’s all machines, kettlebells up to 45 lbs and dumbbells up to 55 lbs (bow flex adjustable).

I was in a hotel gym earlier his week and went to do chin ups on a fat bar that I couldn’t close my grip all the way around and I could barely crank out 3-4 chin-ups or pull-ups before my grip completely failed.

My back was not seriously worked but my forearms are sore as hell. Any good exercises that this boards does that has shown steady improvement with grip strength?

do you have access to a pull up bar you can hang from?

farmer carries with the heaviest DBs or KBs will help

-use fat grips on everything
-captains of crush grippers
-plate pinches
-wrist wroller
-wrist curls
-hang from pull-up bar as long as possible
-squeeze dumbbells and barbells as hard as you can when you lift
-throw away the lifting straps, and never use them again

The sample I provided above has helped me build a pretty powerful grip. I am a forearms and grip enthusiast.

What they said

Farmer carries, hangs and plate pinches work really well
Add in some racquetball and tennis ball squeezes during the day

Thank you everyone for the responses. I think I’m going to start ending each sessions with some dumbbell farmers carries for now and watch the progression. If I’m not satisfied with my results I’ll go buy so 10 and 25 lb plates and start doing plate pinches

Hanging from the bar will get that grip strong. Also you can hang from towels.

When you're strong enough, do single arm hangs.

look into getting a wrist roller

Rouge makes them. There's also an attachment for a rack or rig.

I use these to increase my grip strength for bouldering/climbing:

Grip/Forearm Trainer

They are inexpensive, work well and are portable.
