Went last year. Really enjoyed Lilly’s Bistro for a nice dinner. Lilly’s has good/decent prices for BTAC and VW, if you’re into that stuff; and they have a “VW Flight” (10yr, 12yr, baby Saz, and 20yr) for $60ish. I want to say Birthday Bourbon was like $12.

Silver Dollar is an awesome spot and has an awesome selection. They had some great OWA picks when I went.

Holy Grale was a cool bar too. They had a lot of rare beers and what not.

As far as tours go, BT was my “favorite” locale, but probably just because it’s BT. 4R was under construction and kinda sucked at the time. It was literally just a tasting.

I have to say though, Woodford’s tour was Top-notch! The facility is gorgeous, and the tour and tasting are great. I highly recommend WR’s tour.

Agreed. Buffalo Trace is awesome because of the history. But the ride out to Woodford and the tour is hands down the best due to the beautiful and well planned. There not my top choice in bourbon but they do put on a damn fine tour and their grounds are awesome.

Silver Dollar Bar in Louisville. LINK One of GQ's top 10 Bourbon bars in the country.

Would also highly recommend Jeff Ruby's steakhouse if y'all are in the mood for an amazing meal. The Jewel is one of the best steaks I've had in my life.

We might hit one distillery for the tour, then we are hitting others for the tasting and gift shop and moving on. Looking at BT, 4Rose, Willett and Three Boys Farm.

I don't think you can do the tastings at any of them without doing the tour.

Was thinking the same thing.

At several of them the tasting room wasn't even accessible without a tour guide. Buffalo Trace is the only one that had their tasting room accessible to people not on a tour, and even then you couldn't just walk up and do a tasting because they were done at the conclusion of the tour by the tour guide.

plus I'm not sure if I'd want to... I can taste whatever at a bourbon bar. I get a special kick out of tasting stuff right after I've seen the stills it's made in, the barrels it's aged in... really a cool experience.

Now that I think about it, the Jim Beam tasting room is accessible to anyone not on the tour. But they have all their bourbons in these electronic dispensers and the tour guide gives you a little credit card pre-loaded with 4 pours. So unless you get that card from someone, it's pointless to even go in there.
