NYC Christmas Attractions

My wife and I are taking a day trip into the city soon, were gonna hit rockafeller center at night but nothing else planned.
Can anyone recommend any must see Christmas attractions in Manhattan?

We just came back on Sunday. I would take a walk up 5th Ave and see all of the window displays, but it can get quite crowded in spots. Our favorite "Christmasy" thing may have been the ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park. That was way more fun than I expected. The line and crowds at the Rockefeller rink were crazy, but it was cool to go see it.

It wasn't actually that bad this past weekend. It was only crazy in front of Saks (I believe that was the one with the huge display and music).

I was in NY for Christmas last year. Stayed in Gramercy Park.
The good thing is there are plenty of places open on Christmas day due in part to the large Jewish population in the city.
I would steer clear of going to see the Christmas tree unless it's at off hours - it's a cluster and frankly it's just a big tree.

There is a smaller rink & a nice outdoor market in Bryant Park (directly behind the big NY Public Library on 5th Ave). Here's a link, 150+ vendors: LINK
There are a few food vendors directly in Bryant Park, but I like Eric Kayser, just across the street, for breakfast pastries or a quick lunch. Takeaway or eat in. Best pistachio financiers on earth.
The Cloisters (medieval branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, way up in Ft Tryon Park, decorates for Christmas in the medieval fashion. It's a cool place, and the park has a nice view of the Palisades across the river.

Forgot about this! We spent Saturday morning at Bryant park and really enjoyed it. It had the most Christmas feel of anything we did. It was kinda like a small European Christmas market.

The interior of Rolf's has the most ridiculous Christmas decorations you'll see. Something most females would love to see and you can just walk in and out if you so desire.

We are going Dec 23rd-27th. I'll watch this thread until then. We got the boys(ages 16 & 20) tickets to the Knicks/76ers game on Christmas day. Wife and I will probably catch a show while they are at the game.
Our to-do list includes 9/11 museum, Brooklyn bridge, Top of the Rock, Rockettes, Central Park, Bryant Park. We plan on doing a lot of walking, some friends of ours just went, they averaged 6 miles a day.

Was just in NYC not to long ago and I wish we would've spent more time in Bryant Park. It was really cool at night and they have all the shops there too.
Central Park is a good idea and the 9/11 museum was really good.

Thanks for all the recommendations. We had a nice walk from Penn Station to Bryant park.
We hit 5th Ave on the way, the wife loved it (it was insanely crowded though). Spent some time in Bryant Park at the shops and food vendors.
We were waiting to meet a friend so we went in to the Whole Foods to get out of the cold. There is a restaurant inside called The Harbour that looks over Bryant Park, great views and a good selection of drinks. We killed about 2 hours there we liked it so much.
After that we met our friend at the Rockefeller center and saw the tree which was fun. Then headed to Wolfgangs for dinner.
It was a good time and a nice way to get into the Christmas spirit.
