Doug Jones loses to any Republican candidate other than Moore, and Trump likely would have done the same to any Democrat outside of Hillary.

Bernie would've gotten killed with moderates
Biden would've been more formidable but then again he got his arse kicked in both primaries he was a part of

Trump had a solid effort as a candidate as much as he shot himself in the foot. Jones really has Hillary's campaign skills without the name recognition.

That is, he will serve out the unexpired term and end up being voted out in three years.
Except I don't know that Jones has as much intellectual firepower as Stewart.
Hell, Stewart is 77 and would still probably be a more effective Senator than either of the candidates on the ballot yesterday.
