Keeping raccoons off of deer feeder

I know it’s been discussed before, but I can’t find the thread and I can’t remember what y’all said worked the best
We’ve got an acrobat raccoon who can hang his arse upside down on the gravity feeder and knock out corn all night long for his five fat buddies underneath him.
I know there is spike strips you can put on the legs, a set up to electrocute them, and then there’s good ole Vaseline. I’m about to try Vaseline today.
What has worked best for y’all?

well try putting rat traps on the rope and bucket, if nothing else you break his leg and there will be no more acrobatics from him.
short of that, spend the night and bull eye him and his buddies. once they learn, all you can do is kill em or surrender to them and leave the area

DP coon traps. You think you've got one or two problem raccoons on that feeder. When you bash the brains out of the 12th one in your DP traps you will realise your problem was worse than you thought.
Some tips:
Stop putting feed in the feeder and just put it in the traps. Don't set the traps. Let them eat exclusively out of the traps for about two weeks. They'll get accustomed to it.
Then use the same feed and set the traps. Get several and set them all the same night. You'll catch a coon in every trap. Do that until your catch rate goes way down.
Then, switch to sardines for bait. Your catch rate will go back up. Any survivors at this point are trap averse. Shoot them in the face.
Problem solved.

With a string hang a pvc pipe over each leg. When they climb it will spin and they fall. I did this and it works.

I put longer poles and greased them. It worked for a while, then they made a totem pole out of themselves

I’ve seen pics of them doing the same thing. It’s unreal how smart they are.

Best option (imho) is to feed soybeans instead of corn. Coons don't mess much with soybeans for whatever reason.
If that isn't desirable or doable, put varmint cages on your feeders and run traps as stated above. They make great archery practice as well.

Damn, the Coonhood looks pretty cool. The website is pretty crude and it looks like this guy is just trying to get the product off the ground, but I think it has potential. I don't live to far from one of the 2 dealers listed on his website so I might have to check it out.

If they can reach the spreader with their filthy paws, you don’t have enough cage.
