Anybody ever tried Stock and Barrel?

Went last year. It's good but not great. Was so smokey inside that it was like eating in their kitchen. I thought Tupelo Honey, also at Market Square, was much better

Seems like market square is the best place for eating/drinking.

Any particular good spots for tailgating before the game?

Was considering taking the family up to watch but saw the weather and now am probably leaning away from going. Last forecast I saw was strong thunderstorms and 45 degrees. I figure I can save money and have the kids kick me in the nuts a few times for the same experience.

Not Watson’s is on market square and it’s good too. Tupelo Honey has gone down a little they just revamped their menu.

As for Stock and Barrel get on the Yelp app and do call ahead seating to get in line.

There's six in our crew. Our plan at the moment is to hang out at Calhouns on gameday.

ETA: Definitely breaking out the carhartt bibs for this weather.

While it may not be the best spot right before the game since it is across the river, Trailhead Beer Market in South Knoxville is a neat place with great reviews. Also, there will be a good group of LSU fans there. A relative of the people I'm going with owns the place so we will likely be there Friday Night, and Saturday evening.

UT has been under renovation for awhile to eliminate as much parking/driving inside campus as possible. They want it to be a much more pedestrian campus even though you flatlanders don't like hills. They still have some faculty lots that people tailgate in. They use to do some tailgate stuff over by Circle Park that's more commercial, not sure if they still do that or not.

Tupelo Honey was always meh at best. Menu change made it worse. It's one of those chains that look better if they aren't in your town and when they are in your town, you just avoid it.

Staying in Gatlinburg and driving to Knoxville Saturday morning. Where is the best place to park? Don't mind paying $20-30 for a good spot.
