i really wish the committee had just turned down the espn money and stuck with only releasing the top 4 teams after the season and conference championships ended. now all we get to hear about is which teams are getting screwed for the next month when in all likelihood a lot of these teams are gonna lose and it'll sort itself out in the end anyway

I had an epiphany a few years ago that arguing over shite on a message board or watching idiots say crap on ESPN matters one bit

me too, but i have a long commute and a lot of time at work to listen to podcasts and now they are all gonna be about why Bama should be #1 and Georgia should be #2 and vice versa like it even matters when they are gonna play next month if they stay 1 and 2

It’s really hard to take their opinions seriously. They sit there and tell us that the rankings are wrong because they think one team would beat another team, then they do their bowl pickem and get like 70% of their picks wrong.

I appreciate the transparency. Either way they're opening themselves up to crticism, but at least this way the public can see what they're all thinking week to week. If the media talking heads bother you that much, you can tune it out. It's not like they wouldn't be guessing week to week at which teams were in the top 4 if the committee didn't release these rankings.

you can tune it out by deciding not to listen to any CFB radio shows or podcasts... i wish i could find i could find CFB shows that dont discuss the ratings but there really arent any. i'd rather hear about anything college football related than if Iowa State should be ahead of Clemson after week 9 or not

I mean, the first rankings came out after week 9. That's plenty good enough

This is true. There’s no mysterious algorithms or strange outcomes. You can see what matters to the committee.

I just look at it as fun debate and entertainment for the most part. The only times these rankings really matter are the last two weeks. And truthfully, if you're in the top 4, you don't really care which spot.

Are you listening to a college football podcast? Then yeah, what else will they talk about. The podcasts I listen to have barely mentioned college football. MLB postseason and NFL dominate the topics.
