Swat teams will become more militarized with weapons your average joe cant get. Local cops will fancy themselves navy seals. Less due process.

Unfortunately we will never live to see a decrease in the militarization of police in this nation.
The money, the politics, the nature of society prevent it ever decreasing. Have no worries though, the criminal elements of the world will react in the arms race to regain the weapon advantage. Since the criminals are not bound by legalities, they can and do respond to "environmental" changes affecting their success rate more rapidly than those bound by laws.

Also A lot of the social unrest in this country was partially ignited from the past few decades of officer friendly turning into officer tactical and a more 'us vs them' fundraising force that needs more progressing funding to keep up with the militarized Jones'
Went from cops seeing you broke down on side of the road out of gas wanting to help you get gas, to wanting to run your name and hoping to god you have some unpaid speeding ticket so he can justify ripping your truck apart looking for a joint.
