There are so many prospects in LA that we can't sign them all. And there are better in-state prospects. Saban knows this as does CEO. Had we taken Bolden's commitment, it takes a better in-state player off the board. IF we sign Marshall, et al, we will have done well in WR recruiting.
As for Bolden he is Tiger Bait. This stuff about him loving LSU is a wagon-load of fertilizer.

Sadly not true. Kid was an LSU homer until his junior season when his recruitment blew up.

Do you think they don't recruit AGAINST LSU ?? I would bet my life savings that the coaching clusterfrick, no national championship appearances, shitty bowl games, etc. etc. etc. is spewwwwwed to recruits?
Then they dangle the glory that they present as Bama. They show rings. They show RECENT rings. They show facilities that slade claimed were bar none.
Seems like an easy choice to me if I drop my LSU purple and gold lens sunglasses.

If a recruit loved LSU it wouldn't be easy; it would be impossible. IF, he LOVED LSU.

I know he will be a junior when he plays next year but give me jonathan giles all day everyday over slade bolden. Giles is going to be an animal and get alot of touches at the wr spot for us ij Canada system. Giles is a proven beast at the Division 1 level and will be a stud for us.

Seriously, I know it's frowned upon dishing on potentinal recruits but why are we even talking about this kid? We're treating him like he's the next Julian Edelman. There's a 100 other WR's in the nation (prolly in our own state) that will do just as good or better than good ole Slade Bolden. I mean he's not even related to Anquan Bolden. I think LSU will be just fine if they miss out on this superstar.

It's because of what you said...he's from louisiana, and North louisiana especially. If he was from texas or arkansas, there wouldn't be half of the interest in this guy. Like I said before, give me jonathan giles all day long over slade bolden. It's not even close at this point. If you stand out st texas tech and are their leading reciever, on top of being a to 5 wide reciever in the big 12, you can play wr and are damn good. Thats all they do and all they defend against, and he still dominated. Slade bolden has a trey quinn feel to him for me, not just because he's a whit wr. But he's the dame size and had the same hype surrounding him coming out of hs. LSU will be fine.

Provens tape looks Jr high level compared to the West Monroe competition. He's a great athlete, but Bolden is as well and against better players.

Where did I say Bama didn't recruit against LSU? That's probably the reason he picked Bama so say that

I agree he would have been a nice pick up but very far from a must get.
