Come on, man. It's likely Yiddish, which used the Hebrew script. Looks nothing like Arabic
Either way it's the letters for K Sh and R. So it's most likely saying "Kosher".

Thanks for the lesson. Google?

The R looks a lot like the D. Agree that it probably says kosher.

Nice brush-back pitch. The batters team better have thrown behind the first batter up on the other team

Very true. The major difference between the two is that the vertical line beneath the horizontal one has a slight curve in it with the D and it goes straight down with the R. In the picture, it definitely goes straight down.

Of course. But I also studied Arabic for several years, so I had a leg up on you to begin with.

The average temperatures in NYC in 1950 for July was 75.0 F..
Most of those streets get hot during the summer, much hotter than central park, though NYC summer is like 3 months shorter than NOLA summer.
Also your link has an average, not average high.

FIFY.
But you're right. While NYC summer heat can rival any of that down South, it's length is mercifully short in comparison.

That's fair.
It only really gets bad between the six weeks between last half of July and first week of September.

Back when kids were expected to play outside all day and didn't need constant supervision.
