Has Cox Internet been junk the last few days for anybody else ?

I pay for 100 meg and since beginning of the month have had speeds at all time lows. I've been getting 2-8 megs when my connection used to be otherwise solid. I have a tech coming out Saturday but wondering if anybody else has been having issues or gotten an answer ?

I've searched online and it looks like people are saying its a problem with IPv4 to IPv6 that cox is rolling out. Anyone care to explain

No but cox's prices have been junk the past few months, I have to give them a call and see whats going on.

I've had the same exact issue here in Nola. Pay for 100 MBs and haven't seen higher than 5 in the past several weeks. Would you give us an update after the tech comes out? I'm wondering if I need to do the same. Also are they charging you for the tech? Last I remembered it was something like $100 for them to come out even if they don't do anything.

For people having problems do you also have an AirPort Extreme router ? I do and I found this on their site

Mine has been junk. I switched from eatel to cox a couple months ago. I was paying for 15 Gb with eatel and 50 with cox. My connection is much worse with cox.

Really weird thread, mine started creeping about a week ago as well, and I'm paying for 100 meg. I've been trying to download torrents at 1-2 megs over the last week and it's killing me, especially when I'm used to a minimum of 10 meg - and that's on a torrent with minimal seeders. I've tried tons of different torrents, types of torrents, legal iTunes/Netflix downloads, several different devices, resetting everything myself and over the phone and it doesn't fix anything. I've talked to others having this problem lately too, but not with Cox (I don't have cox either). It seems like it's happening for some reason across providers.

i had a tech come out bc mine was dropping speed way below what i am paying for. the contracted tech was awesome. he replaced the cable line going from the post to my house and with no charge. speeds went back up after that.

I had this done and it got better for a while but it is back like before. I've been told all kind of stories from Cox...I'm on the end of a line, maybe neighbors are gaming, maybe neighbors are streaming, weather...
Cox just sucks is my opinion but what can I do ?

It's all pretty much bullshite. You know they are throttling. The last two months my speeds have been atrocious and the service comes in and out. Will probably make the jump to Eatel to at least try them out.
