"Wow"

It's not bad. It's very hip hop. I much prefer "Dreams", which IMO is among his best work.

quote:

After a myriad of Instagram teasers, Beck has officially shared his new single “Wow”. According to a press release (via iHeartRadio), the track is taken from his upcoming as-yet-untitled album, due out on October 21st through Capitol Records. It features production from Greg Kurstin (Sia, The Shins). On “Wow”, Beck taps into his hip-hop meets folk roots, bringing the bars as well as a cool, fun sense of swagger. Over a rumbling, rubbery beat and siren-like effects, the songwriter talks demons, jewels, and “getting loose with the luminous moves.”

not much is really music anymore...this is just a produced movie production (post-production editing, machine voice, dummy sounds, overlapped fake voices, lyrics, etc)...instead of just music.

Can't we just get 4-5 people on stage with guitars, bass and drums? Maybe a piano? Is that too much to ask in this day and age?

I get where you're coming from, but it's Beck, he put in more work on this song himself than 10 shitty pop music producers could today.

Music is extremely subjective, just because you don't like it doesn't make it music. Plus it's Beck, dude is super talented

Beck hasn't mattered in at least 10 years.

Apart from that whole Grammy for Album of the Year last year, for a really good album.

I like it, but I think Beck can do no wrong and is always way ahead of the curve. Morning Phase is a masterpiece IMO, and I look forward to this release, even though it's obviously drastically differnt.

Seriously? Maybe to you, but that's an absurd statement otherwise.

I didn't really like Morning Phase but Modern Guilt was great. Weird statement indeed.

He's been on a great stretch since Guero. I loved Modern Guilt as well.

A true mark of a has been. Grammys are a mark of mainstream garbage on par with Oscars.

ETA: I usually don't make negative comments on here. But I loved Beck for a long time.....Ive seen him live 5 times starting back in the mid 90s and never been disappointed. But I saw him a couple of years ago and I was bored to tears. I wasn't the only one either. Most people weren't paying attention.
