I thought It would be good just to have 1 big Omaha thread for all questions concerning traveling to see the CWS. Admins might want to sticky this one for a couple of weeks?

So ask away and those who know please reply. Please try to stay on topic!

It'll be my first trip so I've been trying to go between all the different threads on here and F&D. 1 thread would be great IMO

With that thread title, I actually expected OP to provide some useful information. Silly me.

How terrible is the drive from New Orleans? I'm considering making it. Also for those flying last minute a friend of mine told me in 2013 that depending on the airport, the rental car selection is relatively low. If you plan on flying in to a surrounding city there is a chance they will be out and you will be stuck. Point is reserve a car in advance.

it's not like you're preparing to climb Everest, it's a small town with pretty much one show going on, pretty easy to get around and pretty easy to find out where everything's at

I drove up there from Baton Rouge, it's an long and boring drive but it's really not that bad.

I went through st Louis a little longer but all interstate

Make sure you spend time between games in the old market lots of great places to eat. It will be busy im sure but worth it.

Upstream is pretty good a lot like chimes. They actually brew their own beer. Teddy and wally's is a great ice cream place. Wheatfields is great too. Not in the old market but also look into beer topia, greatest selection of beer I've ever seen. Also three bars in that area too, not LSU themed but still good.

71 north of Texarkana closed due to flooding. Just turned west on I30 and will go through Paris, Texas. Hope to sleep in Joplin, Missouri tonight.

I will be staying across the river for the Finals. I ran across bus info for Council Bluffs. Their routes just changed. They dropped a lot of routes.

If you want to be more specific about where you will be staying and when, I will look for the new links for the bus info.
