I feel there's been one common denominator over the last several years...
NFL preparedness
I think most are in agreement with the assumption that we are using this idea of NFL preparedness as a recruiting tool. That is, that LSU prepares kids for the NFL better than everyone else. High school kids come to LSU, learn how to play a position like a pro would, then move on. As well, that staff may not mind if kids leave early (perhaps even encourage it?).
Consider the offense that we all feel is stubborn...it certainly is stubborn, but CLM obviously wants the pro-style offense at all costs. So he hires Cam, a guy with substantial NFL experience to be the face of offensive NFL preparedness. Regardless of production as of late, Cam is a good hire when you consider prepping a kid for the pros.
Chavis...great DC..for college. Did he screw LSU? YES. Will he be good at ATM? Likely (eventually). Is this an opportunity for CLM to further his vision for a pro-like coaching staff to round out his pro-style team? YES.
All things considered, I feel CLM goes after someone with substantial pro coaching experience and some success.

Serious question have you watched an NFL game since 2000? What we run no more resembles a pro style offense than it does a donut assembly line

Most fans are just tired of this crap. LSU football is/ has not been enjoyable in several years. Miles better hire great and get a good qb developed or he's gone next year.

There's a lot more to a pro style offense than people on this board seem to think. A modern pro style offense isn't lining up in the power I with one wide receiver on the field. All it does is limit the options of a already struggling quarterback. Pro style offenses are much more unpredictable than that horse shite LSU runs.

mosttigerfan - that might be all well and good but I don't see us pulling these 5 star athletes from across the country saying they are coming to LSU because LSU will prepare them best for the NFL. Our recruiting base is still very southern states centric and most are still coming from Louisiana, Texas and the fringe states around Louisiana. No different than the last 15yrs of building our program to where it is today.
I am sure it helps and that is great but I don't see us picking up kids from California and other talent rich states that are beyond what LSU normally does.

LSU FB Goals this offseason:
1) Hire a good DC
2) Finish recruiting strong
3) Re-vamp, simplify the offense
4) Improve QB play
5) Get rid of Peveto

Simplify the offense? Really?
It couldn't be anymore simple, that's part of the problem.
