Who is ready for the Google stock split Thursday?

A weird one at that. I've read some people plan on selling their Class C share (new GOOG) and rebuying it as a share of GOOGL. (Today's GOOG will soon become GOOGL and the new class of shares will use the four-letter ticker.)

What happens to the stock I already own? Do I get shares of both, 1:1? Or only a 2:1 of the Class C shares?

Looks like it is going according to plan. Prices nearly synching up for GOOG and GOOGL. I was concerned about this.

If you care about voting, yes GOOGL. I now have one share of each, but I might sell my GOOG, because I'm not sure if the risk of the prices of the two separating is over yet. FYI if they do separate more than 1% after a year, GOOG shareholders are entitled to cash compensation to make up the difference. Why bother if you are buying today? Just get the GOOGL and be done with it.
