Staying in DFW tonight and was looking for a dinner recommendation for the wife and I.
Just something middle of the road......doesn't have to be over the top.
We are staying near downtown if that helps.
TIA

I know it sounds stupid and touristy but the Wolfgang Puck restaurant at the top of reunion tower is great.
Expensive: Truluck's, Nick & Sam's (not the grill), Fearing's at the Ritz, or Ocean Prime.
Less: Common Table, Nick & Sam's grill, patrizio.

If you are "near downtown" you are most likely near uptown. Restaurants in downtown skew towards more expensive like Fearings. Although there is some chain crap in The West End. Uptown has a lot more options. Personally, I would send you to Bishop Arts area of Oak Cliff or Trinity Groves area of Oak Cliff. Trinity Groves is just across the new Calatrava Bridge from Downtown and has several new casual restaurants. Trinity Groves Bishop Arts Boulevardier, Bolsa, Creatias and Nova are all good. Ten Bells Tavern has good food in a pub like setting.

If you're actually downtown, check out CBD Provisions in the Joule Hotel.
If by "near downtown" you mean Uptown, check out Stampede 66, Belly & Trumpet, or Savor in Kyle Warren Park.
Trinity Groves (South West Dallas across the new bridge, easily accessible from downtown) has several great new spots, incuding Casa Rubia.

Wingfield's Breakfast and Burgers
Trust me
Just make sure you call ahead(especially around lunchtime, gets busy) and be prepared to eat in your car(the burger joint is only a kitchen, no inside seating). Oh and they only take cash, no cards
There are bars on the windows of the place but damn its worth it

Ended up at DISH.......food was good but a lot of gay boys in there.
It was a little too trendy for me.
