Those figures include their buyout payments from their previous school...what you are seeing is not their annual salary alone (Jones, Beliema, etc). Miles' number is his salary.

If a bidding war were to breakout between UT & Bama, Saban would put the rest on this list to shame as far as salary is concerned.

And we're usually about a 7th ranked team. Seems about right. Still, 4.5 million should at least buy SEC championships pretty regularly. All in all, I'd say that's about right then. Mack Brown, Bielema, Jones, Stoops, Hoke, and Ferentz are all vastly overpaid.

SEC champs 2001, 2003, 2007, 2011
SEC champ appearance 2005
Natl champs 2003 2007
Natl champ appearance 2011

who on that list not named miles or saban has done that well??

I think those two guys getting that kinda cash with their limited success shows how desperate Tenn. and Ark. are to regain successful football programs.

It also shows how very lucky LSU was in both 2000 and 2005 when they pulled the trigger with its hires of Nick and Les.

and one who does not have a bunch of season tix, parking passes, know jack shite about football, and donated a ton of money to LSU.

Plenty successful people support LSU who did not specifically go to school there. Oh so we can only be supporters/fans now if our kids go there right?

our coach is paid outside a top 5 football program yet our program is in the top 5 in the country.

How exactly is our program top five when we were in the top 10 only once in the final polls in the past 5 years?

Football coaching at the Div 1 and NFL level has got to be the biggest con game of the 21st century.

Most of these guys barely even have winning seasons much less bring championships home.

LSU is getting a lot more for their money than most of the schools on that list.

Let's break it down by National Championships per $1 million over the last 5 years and take another look. I think our friends 2 states over win that contest.
