With the availability to play this via Ps3 one week away and the pre order price is $39.99 on PSN, I'm tempted to buy right now. However, I'm a little shy on the fact that FF has gone a little down hill. I was a huge X fan and even liked 12; but was not a fan of Lightning or that bitching-all-the-time Hope, fang was cool and I even dare compare her to Auron(meaning she's your heavy hitter). But, prediction wise, how will ARR stack up against the last few releases?

I haven't read anything on it since its release and that quick little teaser video. Sure I could go to youtube right now but I'd rather ask all the other experts on here who have done their homework.

Should I DL now or should I pass on the $39.99 deal and see what comes of it?

It's an MMO, completely different than XIII and the blow hard lightning.. fun game, and I'm really enjoying the beta right now.. take it for what it is.

Will do, thank you. In an MMO, which I'm not accustomed to, can you lone wolf it or do you really need a band of merry men to really play? Is the more the merrier part of the flavor?

You have to party to do some quests, but it's not very difficult to find others.

For the story and guild missions, you can do them solo.

This won't be your typical FF game. You can solo the story quests but having said that, while the story is good by MMO standards, it's not your typical FF story.

There are "gates" in the main story that require you to party to advance but they have been really easy to beat and form a party for.

This game is a really forgiving MMO. There are some pretty good training wheels which aren't present in most MMOs. I'm a huge MMO and FF fan.

I play on Balmung server, and recommend it because of the great community.

I grew up in Baton Rouge and moved to Huntsville in 2005 after I graduated.

I think this is their best story since 10. It's really intriguing with a solid backstory.

I tried to pay attention to the story, but I basically just started skipping everything.
