it's a message board...debate is most of the fun.
why post if you don't want your opinion to be known, and then argue for it sometimes?

Well he seems to get more time down low than he did in Orlando
Definitely. Monty has him working on that. Which is good, but also scares me a little that he sees Anderson as a 2nd team anchor subbing for Davis rather than playing with him.
Like Drake said, they both need big minutes. If you can't get you're best players on the court at the same time as much as possible, then you have a flawed team.
Just to be clear, there is no reason to move Anderson now. I like him. I still think he can work with Davis. Just voicing some long term worries I have

You should stop at Ms Maes for a little pregame.

I said I wasn't dealing with that because I was on my phone. I've owned you before and I'll own you again on here. All you do is defend mediocrity when the number one thing wins and losses tell another story.

I said I wasn't going to do it with him while I was posting from my phone.

My use is to support the team, which I do more than you.
That is not your use. You have one use only and are poor at that.

quote:first of all who said Vasquez was an amazing point guard? few if any on here have made this claim. we are saying point guard is not our major concern right now and Vasquez is serviceable enough to where we can focus attention at upgrading positions of greater need.
I'm going to leave by saying this, if we have this amazing point guard in Vazquez, the chosen one at 2 guard, a hall of fame player in the post, and a MVP candidate in Ryno, why are we one of the worst teams in the league?
this thread was started as an extreme overreaction because the op apparently thinks you can get elite pg's at the local whole foods.
the rest of your claims are just preposterous but i'll take them as legit. eric Gordon has the POTENTIAL to be an elite SG in the league if he is completely healthy and stays healthy. right now sitting out back to backs and not being at complete full strength he isn't "the chosen one" as you say.
Hall of fame potential does not mean he is a hall of fame player currently. he is 19 years old and doing pretty well considering he is a string bean. put some weight on him and give him an nba offseason then if he doesn't improve legit concerns can be raised. it is much easier for a guard to shine immediately than a big man.
quote:this is just retarded someone made a comparison to peja at his peak who was an mvp candidate at the time and you are using it to fail at making a point.
and a MVP candidate in Ryno
quote:for many reasons. if we had an elite point guard would we be better? yes. would we be championship caliber? far from it.
why are we one of the worst teams in the league?
Conclusion: Vasquez is not the main concern of this team and has been exceeding everyones expectations this year. if an elite point guard would become available and want to come here I would take it in a second but is that a realistic scenario right now? I don't think so

I really don't think you read before you comment in things.

2 years in a row fighting for the number one lottery pick. Something better change next year. I really want to make the playoffs but nothing is giving us the impression that will happen.

It would take hours to find but many people were saying Vasquez was one of the top PG in the league.

1. I'm talking strictly to Jester
2. The comments he made about Vasquez aren't in this thread.

I didn't make any claims, your boys did.

Hall of fame potential means you are an elite player and need to duplicate what you are doing for more years. Anthony Davis hasn't done shite yet. Stop trying to defend others stupidity.

Again stop trying to defend others stupidity. He made the claim that Ryno was on Peja's level and he isn't even on the same planet. Peja was one of the best players in the NBA when he was in Sacramento.

I have not once in this thread said we need to flat out get rid of Vasquez.

Not Vasquez's fault the team's two franchise players are either hurt or a 19 year old rookie.

I don't know of anyone who ever seriously claimed Vasquez was a top pg in the league in anything other than assists- which he is.
He is around top 12-15 pg overall and that's certainly good enough to win with if he's a complementary player.

Irving has a ways to go to catch CP3. He will never be a better Pg than Paul if he's shooting 18 times a game. Paul does EVERYTHING. Look at his win shares. Look at his PER. Every season has been better than Irving. shite, he had 30 PER season and 3 more over 25. He's led the lead in assists and steals multiple times. There are guys like CP and Nash. Guys who make their teammates better and can score when need be. They are gamers who also get it done in the playoffs. Then there are guys like Irving, Westbrook, Rose, Lilliard, jennings who are me first scorers who look to pass only when they have to. When one of those guys can score 23 a game and lead the league in assists and steals all while shooting 50%, let me know.
Perfectly said. I meant to say Irving has the potential to be as good as CP3. At this point CP3 could wind up as one of the best ever at his position. Sucks we lost him

quote:I wish we still could have him but what would we be with him? a mediocre team who would be a first round exit every year possibly making a 2nd round exit from time to time. with paul and his knee we didn't have a legit contending team our only option was to blow it up and rebuild. cp3 tried to convince other stars to come here none wanted to play in nola. with cp3 we would have never won the lottery getting Anthony davis who will be the staple of our franchise. we wouldn't have eric Gordon which isn't saying much because we don't really have him now but if he ever gets and remains healthy he has elite sg potential. we got ryan Anderson for a good price and we have lots of money to hopefully land someone.

rebuilding was really our only option if we dream of becoming a contender. with cp3 here we were going to stay an moderately above average team keeping us from ever getting a high pick in the draft. at least this way with the right moves we have a chance to build a contender
