I hope you gave this dude a bit of "stick time" before you took him to the clink. He looks like a douche with the faux hawk.

He mouthed off to a cop. Nothing more.

While we can debate how big a deal this is, do we KNOW this is all there is to it, what was he arrested for? etc

I am sure it was handled internally, as it should be. I am sure Nikki sat her coach down and said something to the effect of "I am making $700K here...don't frick this up for me and don't be drunk in public again in our town during the season"

And he probably had to go to principal Alleva's office. Alleva probably sat him down as well and told him he just used his "one free frick-up card" and not to do it again.

I agree with Golfer...he mouthed off at a cop. He didn't get in a fight, molest young boys, have a fake girlfriend that he lied about, or cheat on a bicycle race by taking drugs. Nothing more to see here. He should be put on notice not to do it again...end of story.

I think the official affadavits and the police report cited in the original post indicate that there is nothing more to it.

quote:

Anthony “Tony” Perotti, 6810 Jefferson Highway, was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of entering or remaining after being forbidden and disturbing the peace by intoxication.

There apparently was some "inappropriate behavior" going on inside the club...but probably not much more than him acting like a drunk arse...which is why he was asked to leave. I am sure if he had beat someone up or something in the club, we would have heard about it by now.

Now if you would like to have the "what was he doing out at 2am the night after Arkansas kicked our arse and two nights before an important home game when his energy should be focused on basketball" discussion....I am all ears to that one.

any update on this?...and agree with others, care less it happened, care more it was night after a loss and two days before a big game..in heart of sec season for a bubble team..image is vital to any team's long term success...so what is the impact on our team? Loss of respect by players for coach? a coach who does not give there all coaching because of partying? Recruiting impact? Chemistry among the coaches?

It hasn't shown...the 3 games since the incident occurred have been 3 of their best games of the season, effort wise.

a coach who does not give there all coaching because of partying?

Maybe he can juggle both...but I don't think he should be trying.

Recruiting impact?

Zero

Chemistry among the coaches?

They have been together 5 years now counting UCLA. I am sure all is just fine. Would you stop being friends with someone just because they were a drunk a-hole one night?

so what is the impact on our team?

Probably zero.

If anything, hopefully the coach has learned that his hairstyle was widely rejected by the Rant...he appears to be wearing blush in the eyes of some here...and that he has been compared to PeeWee Herman. Maybe that will deter further poor behavior.

Time to move on...I really think there is nothing more to see here.

I hope you are right, but have to say, I disagree to an extant...this WILL be used against us in recruiting (a bit), does impact the team now (no way it is good for them) and may be a sign of bigger issues (doubt it, but again, it is not a positive thing for us). At some point I would think there is a public slap on the wrist, but depending on the "real story" (we may never know) he may be fired or suspended and this would certainly be significant.

36 year olds shouldn't be drunkenly mouthing off to a cop. And the hairdo is even worse.

This guy is VERY dispensable in the overall scheme of LSU athletics.

When a pissant, easily replaceable assistant women's basketball coach fricks up in public, he's assured his negatives will always outweigh his positives.

His arse should be fired.

100% agree here. Who can party till 2am get fricked up & be worth a shite the next day at work? About 1% of the population.

For the record, we don't know what he said to the cop. I won't speak up for the hairstyle.
