Friend left his meat in our freezer and now doesn't want it because it is a year old. I am assuming it is fine for me to make some burger patties or meatloaf with it tomorrow (I have some regular hamburger to mix with it and I may put bacon over the meatloaf also). Anybody think a year old is too old?

We just ate duck breast from last year in August to clean out the freezer for the new season. I assumed this was the same with deer also.

Venison can last up to two years in the freezer.

You're good.

Vacuum sealed, I've had backstrap that was a year and half old. I'm alive.

You should be fine but I would probably make a chili or spaghetti sauce with it.

I've eaten frozen meat older than that before. As long as it's vacuum sealed.

no discoloration and vacuum sealed all sounds good. I'm assuming y'all kept the freezer going during the hurricane.

If it's not frost bitten or has any ice crystals I say go for it
