So, Saints are only roughly $50M over now with 49 players under contract?

Naw he's gone. Someone else can dump money down that hole in the ground.

Current Contract
In 2023, Winston will earn a base salary of $12,800,000, while carrying a cap hit of $15,600,000 and a dead cap value of $11,200,000.

frick me......

This front office makes it so hard to continue being a Saints fan. We pay Dalton half of that.

At this point just tank and sign vet minimum players. Clear cap space for next HC and hopefully we get no.1 pick in 2024. Lol

No clue whatsoever

I cannot find the article, but read Winston has some weird void language that he has a player void that would reduce his cap hit. Not sure how it works since his cap hit is based on bonus money paid and deferred; but there is some language to help.

Also, Thomas's contract was supposed to have been worked in some clever way that basically forces the team to cut him before the new year, or he's on the team through next year. If that's the case, OTC & sportstrac don't have that language worked into it to show how it would benefit the team.
