I'm not talking quality of football.

I'm talking TV eyes. People think because you win, everyone is watching. That isn't the truth.

That’s not gonna suddenly make big time recruits pop up in B1G country or give them Saban, Kelly, Fisher, Kiffin, Leach, etc.

But BIG has Day, Harbaugh, and Franklin.

I heard Franklin would be a great coach at Vanderbilt.

Someone please take him away from Penn State.

I would say pretty confidently the state of Ohio is the biggest “football” state in the entire US.

Collectively... High School, College, NFL...taken as a whole...probably still 2nd.

Pennsylvania is probably still Football U.S.A. High school (Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Johnny Unitas, Jim Kelly, Dan Marino)...

Penn State football....

NFL...the Steelers, the NFL version of Notre Dame fans everywhere nationwide in droves.

The Eagles?

Kinda wild that the Big 10 has so many at the top

That is some unwatchable trash most of the time and they still get the viewers

Pretty eye opening

True, but look at it this way. The Detroit Lions have sucked. But when they are on tv if you decided to put the best NFL game on in Michigan and Illinois when the Lions are playing the Bears, fans in Michigan and Illinois would be furious that the Lions-Bears are not on even though they are playing bad football and there is better football being played at the same time. People want to watch their teams and not necessarily the best teams.

Also folks in the SEC underestimate how popular Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State and even schools like Michigan State are popular on the East Coast from Boston to Washington. Yes you have Boston College, Syracuse and Maryland, but to a lot of people in New York, New Jersey, Mass. and Penn it's Penn State and Ohio State and Michigan and yes ND.

Once the Ivies gave up on Football and many East Coast schools deemphasized FB ND and the big ten schools took their place.

I would've never guessed in a million years Auburn was pulling in bigger audiences than Notre Dame.

That kinda blows my mind.

Franklin is 11-11 the last two years. Harbaugh averages 4 losses a year at Michigan. No one is scared of them.
