Father in law is wanting to go pickup his bottles from Makers Mark from ambassador program. Going probably middle of March. There will be six of us. Any recommendations on places to stay…hotel or vrbo

I'm going end of March for my bachelor party. We're looking at AirBNB's in downtown Louisville and planning to take a bus out to Makers Mark. I'm an ambassador as well and hoping my barrell is ready in time for our trip.

Downtown Louisville if you're going to be there several days. Bardstown if you're just going to the MM trip. There are clusters of distilleries around both cities. Bardstown is of course more rural. Lots to do in both places, but Bardstown isn't going to keep you entertained for a week like Louisville will.

The Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg is a good spot. It's the oldest inn in Kentucky. The son of the owners is the guy that revived Kentucky Owl. He's since sold it off and is working on other projects, but he'll do personal tastings at the inn. The food there is fantastic too.

We went in October (for the LSU game). We stayed in downtown Louisville at the Omni Hotel. Great hotel and great location. Also, the hotel has a great speakeasy.
Maker's Mark was about an hour away. Also went to Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve and Willett over 2 days. Loved Willett the best, but the others were great as well.

If staying in downtown Louisville, got to Bulleit. It’s literally 5-10 from downtown and has great history.

We just got back last Sunday from Bardstown. We really enjoyed our stay at the Bourbon Manor B&B.

Bumping this, flying into Louisville and looking to stay downtown. Did anyone use one of the shuttle services to go to/from the distilleries?

Louisville at the Omni Hotel.

We stayed here about 2 years ago when we went to Louisville. We did not use the shuttle service, but rented a car. We did MM, and Jim Beam on Saturday. The Omni is walking distance or a scooter ride to a few distilleries. I would highly recommend the bar Hell or High Water while your there.

MM is definitely on the list as a couple of us have barrels aging there. Is 3 too many to try and hit in one day? Did 2 feel like not enough or would 3 be too rushed.

Mint Julep Tours was excellent for our bourbon trail shuttle. Cannot recommend enough, and they can help you with an itinerary if you have one or two places you want to go and need to find a convenient third to pair with them.

Also recommend Hell or High Water, a speakeasy in downtown Louisville. Need reservations, but easy to get. Great drinks.

It depends on what time you start and what you want to do. We did MM to start, and hit Jim Beam on the way back to Louisville. Did the whole tour a MM, and really just walked the grounds at JB because we had missed the tours and were with a very indecisive group. If you plan it out well you should be able to get 3 in. Make sure you print the directions to MM out as there were times we lost cell service.
