He went off about “4 down, hand in the dirt, get after the QB” when we were transitioning from tFolder to tSweatshirt

Except rushing the QB with just 4 DL didn’t quite work. Pelini’s 2005-07 units could do that because they fit the scheme

And I would suggest the way offense was played. Most of the passing was straight drop back from the pocket with lots of pay action of run game. Offenses in SEC were still very 2TE/1Back, 2Back/1TE and 1TE/1Back with 3 WR was considered the most pass oriented offense.

Today the 11 Personnel with 1TE/1Back and 3WR is in essence the base offense in the SEC with 4WR and 5WR sets more common.
