His contract would have to be renegotiated if he were to stay on staff as a position coach. LSU is not going to pay 1.5 mil for a Safety Coach, that is just an absurd amount of money. Our last Safety Coach made about 1/3 of that amount.

If not retained as DC would Daronte be willing to take a drastic paycut if Kelly wants him on staff?????

That money was probably guaranteed so he is getting paid one way or another.

He’s under contract regardless, so he’s getting paid that either way.

Good points made by the fellow poster, we are on the hook either way.

I really did not think this through. Just saw 1.5 mil for Safety Coach and my mind fired "no way".
