Contrary to the recruits he was picking up in South Bend, Louisiana pumps out the most skilled position players per capita. Do y’all think his old school style football was tailored to his recruits at ND? And that the style will change with the new player pool available to him?

I expect that it will - he has consistently molded his scheme to his personnel.

At cincinnati, he ran a wide-open spread scheme. At ND, the guys he can get are offensive linemen and TEs (with a relative lack of explosiveness on the perimeter) and so he has settled into a 12 personnel-heavy scheme.

I think he is going to scout the roster and move forward with whatever he thinks is best. Kelly is not stubborn in this way. He may be stubborn in terms of his personality, but he is flexible as a coach and a program manager.

I think he will definitely try somethings to be more creative based on better weapons.

Faster, stronger, better, with more options.

Yes.

Kelly ran some very open, dynamic offensive units over the years.

He turned DeShon Kizer into a second-round pick, to give everyone some idea...

Kelly is a great coach. He molds his scheme to fit his players’ skill sets

He doesn’t look at a scout team with opt outs and say “we run da Joe Brady offense” or “4-3 because dats how me and Billy usedta do it”

We get hung up a lot on styles of offense. What I care about is a coach who demonstrates that he has a clear cut philosophy and plan on each side of the ball and can get consistent execution of that plan. Kelly has that.

What LSU gives him is a higher overall level of athlete (not to say ND doesn't pull top tier athletes, but the depth of quality on the roster at LSU is higher).

When you add that consistent execution of gameplan to a higher level of roster talent, you get dramatic results. This is what we saw from our WR core with Joe Brady's summer of 10,000 catches. We had the talent. We added consistent execution. I expect to see that type of transformation at multiple position groups.
