Les should get Daddy Dale in to help design a version of the Freak for the Florida game... how about put Baker in to shadow Tebow with Petersen locked in on Harvin. Every one else in Cover 2. Call it the Quadrangle and 2 defense.

Tebow>Baker

You beat him with group tackling.

Harvin is a little faster than Peterson. I think you have to use multiple people covering him as well. Make someone else beat you.

huh? You really think 2 true freshmen are going to stop 2 Heisman caliber players?
I think we'll stick to what we did last time. Our weak side LB will play spy on Tebow.

thats not a very smart comment, since PP hasn't really done an excellent job yet this season, right now harvin is superior to PP, not saying one day PP would be able to handle this, just not now

Riley or Beckwith (if healthy) against Tebow is a way better matchup if you were gonna put just one guy on him.

Ummm, I don't want Patrick Peterson anywhere near Harvin. It's Chad Jones or bust for me on that one.

I don't care what we do, as long as it's not what we did in the 1st half last year.

Last year they came out in a lot of 5 wide and they always lined up Harvin in the slot and Darry was man on him a lot and they jumped out on us.

the problem is we won't play it that way...FL moves him around and puts him in slots where either McCray will be on him, or he'll be headed straight to a soft spot in the zone. Or they'll put in the backfield and a LB will end up on him on pass routes.

I know this post is somewhat tongue in cheek, but I think I'd rather have someone use a ouija board to ask Coach Mac (rest his soul) to come up with a defensive scheme from the other side than to have Dale Brown do anything to help (purportedly) our football (or basketball, for that matter) program.

I'm thinking (actually hoping) for some zone mixed in with man from us. Keep Tebow guessing. Line up McCray in certain man situations with him, and just play him soft. Then, put CJ or Jai or him at other times.

his problems have mainly been in not reading/understanding assignments...I wouldn't worry about him as much in straight man.

Don't shoot me for this one but think about it:

Spy Tebo with Rahim Alem - just put him in as a roving "Mike" line backer - I think he's big enough and athletic enough to stop Tebow.

How about we keep the blitz on and focus on improving our secondary?

You can't. The mike has to cover the RB, the Sam (or buck in LSU's case) takes on the TE. That leaves the will. Highsmith did a good job last year.
