Man, I’ve never said questioning his resume is out of bounds at all.

Who perplex me are the ones who don’t see or won’t admit even one GOOD qualification - that’s absurd. The ones who appear in every Napier thread and crush him time and again. The guy is a good coach and is or has been considered for jobs at Auburn, LSU, Florida, Va Tech, TCU. A coach with zero positive attributes doesn’t draw that interest. He is regarded as a coach that can do very well at a big-time football school. That ain’t me or anyone else here saying it, it’s the ADs and administrations at these schools.

I’m just saying it’s frustrating to see one-sided hate for any coach, like we are the experts. Even the coaches I’d be disappointed to see hired here have positive attributes I can see. They wouldn’t be mentioned if they weren’t good coaches.

As far as a 101 SOS, he doesn’t play with LSU type talent. He’s at a school that has a budget much less than LSU and plays schools with like resources and talent. And he has been excellent. It is my opinion that given the resources available to LSU that his program will translate to great success at LSU. I don’t know that, but there are positive indicators.

To call the guy a bum is just ignoring the facts.

It’s easier to take someone seriously when they say something like, “Napier has done a great job at UL, he’s won a lot of games. But I’m not convinced he’d do well at a big program. He has an offense that doesn’t impress, blah blah blah…” Fair enough. I can respect that.

That’s not what we’re getting from a few who immediately show up on any Napier thread and derail the genuine debate and conversation. There’s no threat that Woodward is going to read one word on this board and form opinions on his choice. Maybe some of these guys are still shellshocked by the Orgeron debacle. I’m 100% positive we’re good.
