So this mentality is a slippery arse slope.

First, there was no evidence he was “up to no good”. Travis McMichael’s specifically said in his testimony they had no prior knowledge he committed a crime, did not see him committing a crime, and only saw him “just jogging”. They assumed he was the person who was committing burglaries in the area (no proof that he was).

In this incident, whether he has a previous record or not, yes he was innocent. The assumption that he might be a person who had broken in some houses in the area is the flimsiest fricking excuse to do what they did.
