Shipping companies used to have the same problem with the Somali pirates. After about 3 years they decided to put 2 guys with machine guns on board. Problem solved.
Why did it take them 3 years to find a solution a 15 year old boy would recommend? Not sure.

Because just about 100% of the smash and grab looting is done by one demographic, doing anything at all to solve the problem gets your company tagged as “racist”.
