Not like we can do anything about it. College players are going to come and go. The portal just makes it more fluid. Just something else to deal with, but as another poster said ... get the right coach and the portal closes naturally. You don't see a lot of portal activity at high performing, stable programs.

Good. One less selfish POS for the new coach.

How about he acts like a man and honor his commitment? Can’t just jump ship and quit when things get tough in life. If that’s how he feels then he shouldn’t have signed with us to begin with. Everyone knew LSU was in rebuild mode after 2019 with all the personnel we lost. O has made things worse obviously but that’s life, things don’t always go according to plan. He’s talented enough to stay here and not lose any draft stock.
But you absolutely can jump ship and people do it all the time. College football is no longer a 4-5 year commitment. It’s like a job in the real world now. The moment you’re not needed or you don’t feel like it’s the best situation for you, you’re free to transfer.
Make no mistake, the staff is going to find as many transfers as they can to replace guys who have made a “commitment” to stick with LSU, so to bitch when the player exercises that same power is ridiculous.
You can be upset, but to act like the parties are doing something wrong is disingenuous.

I told you guys he was going to transfer awhile back after O got canned. He's not the only one. Expect several other star players to leave they're being offered money on the back end with lots of tampering and of course promising championships. LSU is about to get gutted by the portal. Only hope is the hire is amazing and makes them think twice.
No one is in charge right now, its a shite show.
Roster will be shite, unless we can get half a dozen elite tranfers.

What exactly would you do differently, Rog? Just hire Aranda in October?

The Comments on Ricks transferring are way different than Brennan transferring.
I wonder what the difference is....

Hate to see him go but I’d rather have someone who wants to o be here

Hate to see him go..... great talent. I firmly believe that the primary reason he is leaving is his long lasting friendship with coach O. If not the primary reason but one that carries weight as I think he probably would play out his college career if orgeron remained coach. It was that strong a bond. Read on MSN this morning that he has (4) finalists., Ala., Ga., OSU, and USC. Didn't know this but he evidently has a very close relationship with CJ Stroud as they are both from the same town in California and played pop warner ball together. The fit is there because they have a need at DB although it is not of urgency. If he does go there then I can see him and Stroud going together to the NFL.

Comments like this are one of the main things wrong with the black community. The victim mentality of anything bad is because I’m black

I was his biggest supporter. Balled out from the start.
Now, he's tiger bait.

Brennan fulfilled his obligation to the university by graduating.

The comments on Ricks transferring are also way different than the comments on Ray Thornton, too. I wonder what the difference is...

If this is true, what does quitting the team accomplish? Asking for a friend.
Posted on 11/26/21 at 10:46 am to LaTexSaint
Brennan has graduated, has been here years. Ricks? Not so much.
